Just back from a visit to my design school,I'm quite done with the artists griping about that want for the outlet for expression,
you can draw? go out into the street and start that sketching for Chrissake!
you can shoot with that camera? don't think.don't waste tape. shoot exactly when inspiration strikes.nobody is watching. do something.
you can inspire people? find a platform. we need all the inspiration we can get. choose a cause. check its credibility.Be responsible about what you dispense.
Choose your medium, can everybody please start making themselves heard, please?!!

This is What I saw Today ,with Richard, he sketches in from the tube, from the street, from dinner, from all over the place..just sketching every day in..
Thank you Richard, for letting me put up your superb sketches up on my blog.

Shawn Barber.
a mix of illustration in oil which just knocked my breath away.fanTastic movement in the frames!there's a delicate focus on the realism that doesn't topple us into a medical study of anatomy.so goddamn inspiring!!!

i have to fight putting more of tomasz zarachowicz's work up...
the few water colours i've ever done have struck similar chords.
maybe seeing this up here, will make me put those up as well!

Staring from her hood of bone.

She is used to this sort of thing.
Her blacks crackle and drag.

i've not been around...caved into the living quarters, working, working ...and hell enjoying every bit of it: ).the outcome will be screened here by the 23rd of the month.
.
.
.
i can't wait. :):):):):)
so i've been watching the other guys working around me,and the guys pretending to work around me..and it's such a pleasure to come across some superbly tortured through work....featuring sachin george, you could watch him torture himself here...look what he's done with the ten rupee note..

.....sachin's majoring in graphic design.i think it's going to be fun watching him grow.
you might want to toss a line into his space.

hello.i believe you must get your hands on this book,i chanced upon it the first week i entered design school and since, have considered him to be a genius,it's on amazon here

paul smith.
(P.S.:that cosmic connection thing is happening again,i put this post up a coupla days back, and suddenly the bloody paul smith book in the library is changing tables like a mad man all over the place.people are even hiding it.a close friend came up and looked me in the eye and asked if i knew about paul smith.gak! eeep?...741.6 everyone, the book's there!)
.
.
so.:):).
paul smith's got a gremlin of a creative bug.good god.what freaking brilliant energy levels.
like alan fletcher, the fabulous, once said,"what distinguishes designer sheep from designer goats is the ability to stroke a cliché until it purrs like a metaphor." : )
paul smith is on ketchup bottles.and his stores proliferate his germ.down below's a pic of his store at westbourne.
.
.

i mean this skirt now, just shakes the place for me...the bloody detailing, the way he carries forward a motif(he's been using his striped mini cooper all over.on everything.) on the front
.
.

.
.
back
.
.

.
.
and in between: )
.
.

what a beautiful mind, makes me fuzzy all over when people take the pains to get their hands slimy with detail.ffff.
scrumptious coffee table,this.
uff.

this is work by hanna wieslander.
.
.
.
..
what i like about her work are the strokes, her hands are free.she has fluid thought.i admire the punctuation.i envy the delivery.
you might want to see some of her work. i love it when people's personal style shows brilliantly in even the commercial work they do.i respect that. it usually draws a lot of blood from me.and i'm not into the angst these days.

here are some superbly blurred images of some super work.
see...the macbook pro and it's camera have been made for slobs like me who can't get themselves to shuffle to get a scan, but can raise the book in front of it's screen for a few seconds as an ode to their visual trauma.yes.that i can do.
milann can lift book.

so this is a piece on cotton called 'bulls' by the artists bhupendra desai and d.m. shah, weaver's service centre, bombay.
according to the book 'the horns of the animals are delicately dye-painted with a brush, but their bodies are established as a flat wash by dabbing with a dye-soaked cloth.although the figures differ in shape.the half-tone penumbra that surrounds each is remarkable for its controlled depth and uniformity.'

ok ok so i'll get a scan and put it up.

so i really appreciate it when these guys falter into flying with the cuckoos by the way,by 'these guys' i mean the 'designers' ,when they aren't trying to rethink how to put one foot in front of the other.
what am i talking about...?....well,there's this old story about one of the musketeers, see?it's about the slightly daft one,i've forgotten his name...anyway, so he's planted a bomb and he sets it's fuse off and then runs right? but while he was running,he starts thinking...'how is it that i run,i mean how does the other foot 'know' it has to follow the first',and then the bomb goes off,and he dies.coz he couldn't move once he started the thought.
ahem...
but hey they've got great REM bedcloth right here, look under 'subjective cloth'!

'confused'

sometimes i think this guy kills himself with his own texture though..

design for the creative

unfortunately the source gives me trouble all the time...only this nugget to offer.the birds just fit the bottle shapes.bloody poetry!: )

where i've been at

on the street, with the wooster collective who've made it their mission to record the stunning street art they chance upon from around the world.i couldn't stop gawking.
go.

where I was before that!

even though i'm sure you guys have seen a lot of this kind of stuff in Bak or in the avalanche of images one seems to be bombarded with at design schools,i still found this guyalex robbins'work superbly worked out.unpretentious.the urban landscapes,yes...but unlike the artists who tend to get to be androids whilst making artwork about being androids,he still seems to be human.
